Driving Innovation in Clinical Research: Telemedicine Technologies and Micron Join Forces Under the CRO Alliance – PRESS RELEASE
Boulogne Billancourt – January 23, 2025
Telemedicine Technologies S.A.S (hereinafter referred to as “Telemedicine Technologies,” Head Office: Boulogne Billancourt, France) and Micron, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “Micron,” Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) are pleased to announce a strategic partnership under the CRO Alliance to drive new efficiencies and innovations in clinical data collection and management. This collaboration will benefit biopharma and medical device companies conducting clinical trials and observational studies, as well as expand market reach to small and medium-sized enterprises and academia, aiming to acquire new customer contact points.
Telemedicine Technologies and Micron share a common vision: to create reliable, high-quality digital solutions that enhance the clinical research process. Through this partnership, Telemedicine Technologies will bring its advanced eClinical platform, CleanWeb™, which offers a suite of integrated modules—including eCRF, ePRO, eTMF, CTMS, and more—designed to support seamless data collection and regulatory compliance across all study phases. Additionally, it aims to integrate imaging systems with a clinical trial platform, providing a high-functioning, cost-effective solution. Telemedicine Technologies aims to expand its services into the Asian market, while Micron is targeting the European market for service expansion. Furthermore, Telemedicine Technologies is exploring the possibility of incorporating Micron’s imaging diagnostic platform into its system, which could potentially broaden the scope of services offered. (It is still under consideration and not yet confirmed.)
Micron, a Japanese CRO, is the largest imaging CRO in Japan. Micron offers specialized imaging core lab services globally, covering a wide range of disease areas and modalities. With 20 years of experience, Micron has independently developed an in-house imaging study platform system, IRUM@neo, enabling the efficient and high quality handling of imaging data. Notably, Micron is the only CRO capable of fully supporting theranostic clinical trials, from establishing PET drug synthesis facilities, conducting audits, and managing trial setups to regulatory interactions and image analysis. Furthermore, in Japan, Micron provides In-Country Clinical Caretaker (ICCC) services for foreign medtech and biotech companies aiming to develop medical devices.
Together, Telemedicine Technologies and Micron will focus on digitalizing and decentralizing clinical studies by integrating their respective main systems, CleanWeb™ and IRUM@neo, to enhance data quality, streamline study management, and improve the overall patient experience. This strategic partnership not only represents a significant step forward in advancing clinical research through innovative digital solutions but also creates an opportunity for Telemedicine Technologies to showcase the full capabilities of its CleanWeb™ suite to the clinical trial market in Asia and Japan, leveraging Micron’s strong presence in the region. The collaboration will initially focus on expanding imaging analysis services while laying the groundwork for the growth of ICCC and Micron’s other full CRO service packages, allowing both companies to maximize their strengths and deliver impactful solutions for the global
healthcare industry.
